Previously, ONLYOFFICE PDF Editor opened PDF files in viewing mode by default to prevent users from accidentally editing them. Starting from version 8.2, it opens in comment mode instead, in which users cannot modify the file content.
In this mode, you can only highlight text, draw, and annotate, but you cannot edit text, add text boxes, or insert objects.

How do I switch to edit mode?
If you want to edit a PDF file, you can exit comment mode and switch to edit mode in two ways:
Click the Edit PDF button on the Home , Annotations , View , or Add -ins tab ;
Click the switch next to your user profile picture in the upper-right corner and select Edit mode .
Selecting either option will enable the full range of editing tools in the PDF Editor.
